Before cartoonist Oh Seong-moo could finish up the comic with the happy ending for Kang Cheol and Secretary Yoon So-hee, he was visited by the culprit again. He grabs Seong-moo by the collar angrily for teaming up with Kang Cheol and for trying to kill off his character. The culprit absorbs Seong-moo's face completely and tells him that he now runs the show. With total control over Seong-moo and his drawings, he requests for a gun and lots of bullets. This was how the culprit got back into W fully equipped to shoot up the broadcasting station.
Oh Yeon-joo finds herself trapped inside W as an extra, unable to leave. Kang Cheol arrives at the hospital with all of the injured employees following the mass shooting. Yeon-joo finally sees him and is relieved he's uninjured unlike what the original news report stated. She runs into Kang Cheol repeatedly throughout the hospital as she tries to survive days without money or food. She can't help but glance at him from time to time hoping he'll remember her, even if for just a second.
Kang Cheol was in the hospital room visiting his dad's friend, the director who was injured in the broadcasting shooting incident. He was the only person that believed Kang Cheol was truly innocent and worked with him all these years to try to catch the real culprit. The culprit teams up with Assemblyman Han Cheol-ho, the prosecutor that wrongfully imprisoned Kang Cheol in the past. In order to save his career, Cheol-ho agrees to anything as long as Kang Cheol is found guilty for killing his family. The culprit has faceless Seong-moo draw an audio file of drunk Kang Cheol arguing with his dad followed by gunshots. The director had the evidence and played it for Kang Cheol. He begs him to tell the truth because the voices on the audio are his deceased friend's without a doubt. Kang Cheol is confused and tells him it must be fabricated because that argument never happened. Suddenly, a gun appears in Kang Cheol's hands and he shoots the director unwillingly.
Kang Cheol is forced to go on the run now that he's wanted for murder by police. As he's escaping the scene he gets shot and Yeon-joo offers to drive the getaway car. She stops for some medicine and drives to a small hotel where she can help tend to his wound. Kang Cheol starts to question their relationship and her reasons for helping him. She vows to help fix things and kisses him before getting transported out of W.
