Mingle is chaos from the first round. When the number is ten, Gi-hun's group pulls in Hyun-ju's group and finds a room. Players who are locked out are shot in the hallways. In the next round, the number is four. In-ho steps away so the others can go, and Jun-hee, Hyun-ju, Yong-sik and Geum-ja shut the shaman out of their room. In-ho survives anyway and gets a hero's welcome. In Thanos's crew, Nam-gyu and Min-su lose track of Gyeong-su, who is eliminated in the chaos, and Thanos is furious when his young fan doesn't come back.

When the number is three, Geum-ja loses her son in the crush. Gi-hun and In-ho grab her just in time. Hyun-ju and Jun-hee are saved by Park Gyeong-seok (Player 246), the father of the sick girl from episode 2. Geum-ja insists Yong-sik would never abandon her, but when he turns up safe, his tearful apology suggests otherwise. When the number is six, Young-mi stumbles behind, and Myung-gi slams the door before she can reach it. She is shot outside. Hyun-ju is devastated, but Myung-gi points out that opening the door would have killed everyone inside.

For the final round, Gi-hun does the math: 126 players and only 50 rooms. The number is two. In the scramble, Jung-bae ends up in a room with In-ho and a stranger, and he watches in horror as In-ho strangles the third man so the two of them can live.

On Captain Park's boat, Jun-ho's team now has a drone. On one pass, it spots what looks like a hatch on the ground of an island, and the team heads in to check it out. Back in the dorm, Myung-gi tells Jun-hee that if they leave now, they can pool their winnings and start over. She suspects he just wants her money for another investment and turns him down. Seon-nyeo spits a curse at the group that shut her out.

Gi-hun's group counts heads and finds the O side ahead by about a dozen. Gi-hun wants to win over the other side by force if needed, but In-ho talks him out of it, warning that a fight could break out before the vote. With each share now around 356 million won, the vote begins in reverse order. One by one, a few O voters switch to X, including Yong-sik after his mother begs him. Thanos and Min-su vote O. Jung-bae tries to tell Gi-hun something unsettling about Young-il, but he can't get it out. As the last voter, In-ho presses X, and the vote is tied 50 to 50. According to the rules, there will be a revote, but not until the next day.

Jun-ho's team opens the hatch, but it's a decoy rigged with explosives. One mercenary is killed and another is wounded. They now know the island's staff are watching them, so they decide to change radio channels every day and ban phones. Over a dinner of plain gimbap, the O and X sides trade insults across the dorm, and a fight nearly breaks out.

In the bathroom, Thanos and Nam-gyu corner Min-su and pressure him to switch back to O. Myung-gi walks in, tells them to back off, and calls the X side for help. Thanos, high and enraged, taunts Myung-gi about Jun-hee and threatens to cut off his finger. The bathroom erupts into a brawl, and Myung-gi drives a dinner fork into Thanos's neck.
