At sea, Hwang Jun-ho and Kim, the wounded mercenary leader, pick up Park Gyeong-seok (formerly Player 246), who tells them he escaped from the games and points them to the island. Kim calls the coast guard, and Jun-ho heads ashore alone.

On the triangle pillar, a bridge stretches across to the final circle pillar, and it will break apart in five minutes. Lee Myung-gi (Player 333) crosses first and demands that Seong Gi-hun (Player 456) hand over the baby. Gi-hun understands the math: once they reach the last pillar, either one of them or the baby will have to be eliminated. He offers to be the one who dies, but Myung-gi, ruined by people who conned him, can't believe anyone would really do that and suspects Gi-hun of having some history with Jun-hee. With time running out, Gi-hun hands the baby across and then leaps over himself, grabbing a knife on the way.

On the circle pillar, Myung-gi threatens to drop the baby if Gi-hun comes closer. Gi-hun tosses the knife over as he is told, but Myung-gi comes at him with it anyway, and the two struggle at the edge. Both slip over. Myung-gi hangs on to Gi-hun's jacket until it tears and he falls to his death. Because the final round hadn't officially started, his fall doesn't count.

Now the game begins, with ten minutes on the clock. Gi-hun is left with the baby, and only one of them can survive. As In-ho and the VIPs watch, Gi-hun leaves the baby safely on the platform, steps to the edge and looks toward the watchers who have always treated the players like racehorses. He says they are not horses, they are humans, and humans are... and then he lets himself fall. The baby, Player 222, is declared the winner.

With the coast guard closing in, In-ho orders the island evacuated and set to self-destruct. He picks up the baby, and Jun-ho finally catches up and calls his brother's name, demanding to know why. In-ho leaves without a word. Jun-ho escapes into the water just before the island explodes. Kang No-eul (Guard 011), who has read her own file and learned that her husband was executed and her daughter is said to be dead, comes close to turning her gun on herself before escaping too.

Six months later, Gyeong-seok works as a portrait artist at an amusement park, and his daughter, Park Na-yeon, is healthy again. No-eul sits for a portrait without telling him who she is. Soon after, a broker calls to say a girl matching her daughter's description may have been spotted in China, and No-eul boards a flight to find her. Choi Woo-seok gets out of prison, Jun-ho says he won't go back to the police, and the two puzzle over who took Gi-hun's hidden cash from the motel. That night Jun-ho finds the baby in his apartment, along with a card holding her 45.6 billion won in winnings. Sae-byeok's mother arrives from the North and is reunited with her son Kang Cheol, who has been raised by Cho Sang-woo's mother, and Woo-seok, who plans to reopen the old motel, may have a place for her there.

In Los Angeles, In-ho visits Gi-hun's daughter, Seong Ga-yeong. She assumes her father sent him and coldly says she no longer cares whether he calls. In-ho tells her that Gi-hun has died and hands over his belongings: the bloodied 456 tracksuit and his prize card. Driving away, In-ho spots a well-dressed woman in an alley slapping ddakji with a stranger. She is a new recruiter, played by Cate Blanchett, and she meets In-ho's gaze. The games, it seems, are not over.
